Dr. Fernando Moreu has received funding for his project, Ensuring the Sustainability and Resilience of Timber Bridge Railroad Infrastructure Using Remotely Deployed Sensor Nodes, at LANL for the summer of 2016. Dr. Moreu is the UNM PI with David Mascarenas as the LANL PI.
The funding source is the New Mexico Consortium, an innovative effort to engage universities and industry in scientific research in the nation's interest and to increase the role of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in science, education and economic development. This non-profit corporation formed by the three New Mexico universities focuses on facilitating collaborations at the Laboratory interface. Those universities are the University of New Mexico, New Mexico Tech, and New Mexico State University.
