Dr. Rowangould and Students Study Bicycle Facilities
June 4, 2015
MRCOG’s monthly newsletter describes UNM’s role in the City of Albuquerque’s annual Bike to Work Day event (held on May 15). For the third year in a row my graduate students and me have worked with MRCOG to design and conduct a survey aimed at understanding the role that dedicated bicycle facilities (paths and bike lanes) play in influencing how people travel around the region. My students and I along with numerous other volunteers also volunteered to work at the UNM bike to work day stop on the North Campus. Some preliminary findings are discussed in the newsletter, and have also been presented at national conferences. The complete study results are described in a paper which is currently under peer review.
