UNM Engineering Programs Rise in U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools List
April 9, 2015
The University of New Mexico’s School of Engineering overall graduate programs ranked No. 85 in the nation, according to the U.S. News & World Report magazine’s 2016 Best Graduate Schools rankings, released March 10.
In addition, UNM’s nuclear engineering program is ranked No. 15, up from 16 in 2015.
Other School of Engineering programs to make the list were:
• Chemical Engineering: No. 72
• Civil Engineering: No. 91
• Computer Engineering: No. 62
• Electrical Engineering: No. 76
• Mechanical Engineering: 100
The rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students, according to the publication. The data is from surveys of administrators at more than 1,350 programs and of more than 13,500 academics and professionals, conducted during the fall of 2014 and early 2015.
