Gerstle Appointed by the Governor to the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors

Professor Walter Gerstle had been recently appointed by Governor Martinez to the New Mexico Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. Gerstle is a registered professional engineer and has been a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico since 1986. He has performed research at NASA Langley Research Center, Sandia National Laboratories, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He is immediate past president of the New Mexico Society for Professional Engineers, and past president of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Society for Civil Engineers. Gerstle holds a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering from Cornell University.
