Dr. Ferenchak Establishes Autonomous Vehicle Virtual Reality Lab
September 3, 2019 - The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering's transportation group, led by Dr. Nick Ferenchak, recently inaugurated their virtual reality lab. The researchers are using the virtual reality environment to explore the effectiveness of autonomous vehicle communication strategies in terms of user behaviors and perceptions. The work has exciting implications for new autonomous technologies. The lab will soon introduce a VR driving and bicycling simulator.
