Students study engineering in Germany and Holland this summer
July 29, 2019
Dr. Mark Stone, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering, and Michael Gonzalez, Lecturer II in Construction, have returned from an outstanding trip to Germany and Holland teaching engineering concepts to students.
They travelled with 22 UNM students (18 undergrad and 4 grad) spending two weeks in Germany, with a focus on transportation systems, and two weeks in Holland, with a focus on water resources. The students were primarily from civil engineering but there were also two mechanical engineering students on the team. To get a better idea of the activities and structure of the courses, you can view Dr. Stone’s class website here: https://holland2019.weebly.com. Michael’s course followed a similar structure.
The department hopes to continue this engineering experience in future summer sessions.
