Student selected for transportation fellowship and publication

Senior undergraduate Benson Long was selected for the Minority Student Fellowship from the Transportation Research Board (TRB), a division of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Through this program, Benson was lead author on his own research paper entitled "Spatial Equity Analysis of Nighttime Pedestrian Safety: The Role of Land Use and Alcohol Establishments in Albuquerque, NM". After going through peer-review with 6,000 other papers submitted by researchers from around the world, Benson's research was selected for publication (top 20%). He presented his research at the Transportation Research Board's Annual Meeting in January 2021.
