Congratulations Brian Burnett - ASCE Fellow Recipient

brian burnettThe Chair of the UNM Civil Engineering Advisory Board as well as the Chair of the School of Engineering Dean's Advisory Group, Brian G. Burnett, PE, was recently elected by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Board of Directors to ASCE Fellow. ASCE Fellows have made celebrated contributions and developed creative solutions that change lives around the world.  It is a prestigious honor held by fewer than 3.5% of ASCE members.  ASCE represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries.  Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society. ASCE stands at the forefront of a profession that plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.

Brian G. Burnett, PE, is President/CEO of Bohannan Huston, Inc. (BHI), a civil engineering, spatial date, and advanced technologies company, which is recognized for its role in many award-winning and significant infrastructure projects for public and private sector customers throughout the United States.  A graduate of the University of New Mexico with his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, Mr. Burnett began his career at BHI as a design engineer.  Some of Mr. Burnett’s recognitions include:  Leadership New Mexico Distinguished Leadership Award, NMSPE Engineer of the Year, UNM Civil Engineering and School of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award, UNM Alumni Association Zia Award, and the ACEC National Community Service Award.  Mr. Burnett is a graduate of the Leadership Albuquerque and Leadership New Mexico programs.
