Department Awards Scholarships to Students

The department recently awarded $117,000 in scholarship monies to our current undergraduate and graduate students. 

Current undergraduate students receiving scholarships were:  Felicia Candelaria, Jordan Chavez, Gabriela Kemm, Jeremiah Leyba, Stephen Lujan, Mojgan Maadandar, Stephen Pack, Johanna Phillips, Jared Romero, and Christopher Simmons.

Current graduate students receiving scholarships were:  Lauren Breitner, Ala Eddin Douba, Amy Garner, Moneeb Genedy, Amirhosein Jafari, Jielin Pan, Nicole Trujillo, Razieh Nadafianshashamabadi, Qiong Wu, and Su Zhang. 

New graduate students receiving scholarships were:  Mojdeh Azaddisfany, Fenton Bowers, Majid Nikougoftarzarif, Matina Shakya, Aayush Piya, Jose Alberto Gomez and Asifur Rahman.

The department offers approximately $50,000 in scholarships to undergraduate students which is more than any of the other engineering departments at the university. This is in addition to other scholarships available from the School of Engineering and UNM.

There are also several department scholarships specifically for graduate students in addition to the assistantships available from individual faculty members.
