Ferenchak shares plans to make roadways safer for pedestrians and bicyclists
November 6, 2024

Nick Ferenchak, an associate professor in the Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, recently shared some interesting research on how infrastructure design influences safety of vulnerable road users. For a recent episode of It's (Probably) Not Rocket Science (IPNRS) titled “Exploring road safety on two feet,” Ferenchak explains why pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities are increasing, and how quickly we can solve the problem. Ferenchak is also the director of the Center for Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety at UNM.
