Students Win Several Awards at the ASCE Rocky Mountain Regional Conference

The ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) UNM’s chapter garnered several awards at the Rocky Mountain Regional Conference, which was held virtually April 8-10, 2021. The chapter finished 3rd overall out of the 13 schools at the conference, which is the highest UNM has ever finished. The Surveying team (Jeremy Klar, Dru Martinez, & Noah Chacon) took 1st place, the Concrete Canoe team (Conner Smith, Brian Ruiz, Jessica Soto, Logan Hutchinson, Dru Martinez, & Tammy Huynh) placed 2nd, the Blue Skies team (Tammy Huynh, Andy Nguyen, & Maria Cruz) placed 3rd, and Dominica Bennet was on the Mystery Design team that took 1st place. Taylor Busch also competed in the Mystery Design competition. Jose Apura, Niloo Shams Abadi, and Jared Smith competed in the Pre-Design competition. The faculty advisor is Mr. Ken Cooper.
