August 27, 2020 - by Kim Delker
Mahmoud Taha, chair of the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at The University of New Mexico, has been selected as a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Taha, who is also a Distinguished Professor and Regents’ Lecturer at UNM, has been recognized for his accomplishments as a civil engineer and his history of service to ASCE and the profession.
Members attain Fellow status from professional accomplishments via application and election by the membership application review committee. Minimum requirements are 10 years of responsible charge in the grade of member and a professional engineer (P.E.) or Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.) license. Only about 3% of ASCE members hold the Fellow title.
