Dr. Cerrato Receives Excellence in Review Award from Journal of Environmental Science & Technology
November 9, 2017
Dr. Jose Cerrato, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, has been recognized as one of the 2017 Reviewer Awardees in the latest issue of the prestigious journal Environmental Science & Technology (of the American Chemical Society).
At Environmental Science & Technology, peer review is valued because it is how they ensure that the papers published in their journal meet their high standard for quality. The reviewers have submitted about 10 000 reviews over the past year. They celebrate and recognize the reviewers who went the extra distance to write reviews that were truly exceptions. For these distinguished few, they offer an award as one more reward.
Their awards fall into two categories: an annual “Excellence in Review” award, which was established in 2003 to recognize contributions during a single year; and a “Super Reviewer Award,” which was first awarded in 2011 to reviewers who consistently make major contributions to the journal over multiple years.
Dr. Cerrato has received the “Excellence in Review” award, recognition of his work from his scientific community.
