CE506 Students Visit Coreslab Structures
May 8, 2017
On May 2, 2017, the CE 506 class (Prestressed concrete), accompanied by Dr. Islam Mantawy, visited Coreslab Structures in Albuquerque, a producer of precast/prestressed concrete products and a major supplier of structural, architectural and hollow core solutions to markets in Canada and the United States. Miles Blackman (PE, Sales Engineer) and Matt Manning (EIT) took the group for a tour inside the fabrication yard to show the construction procedure of the current projects inside the prestressed plant, including the construction of 72-in prestressed I-girder and hollow coreslabs for state and private projects. The students were able to observe the applications reviewed in class along with a beneficial discussion with the Coreslab team.
