February 20, 2017
Dr. Timothy Ross has been chosen as the keynote speaker for the Rio Fuzzy Logic 2017 Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 26-30, 2017. His keynote address will be titled, "Uncertainty, Imprecision, and Fuzziness in Engineering Information".
The conference is organized by a group called LABFUZZY that was formed in the summer 2014. LAB FUZZY is an institute within the university called “UFRJ”, “Universidade Federal Rio de Janeiro”. Dr. Ross gave the initial keynote address at the first meeting of the conference in June 2014.
The event program includes lectures, round tables, work group action, workshops and master classes. The aim of the conference is to establish a discussion and exposition of the theme by research groups through high-level interaction, with the participation of emeritus and international guests.
The event will have an important representation in the 2017 agenda of LABFUZZY, illuminating issues regarding the challenges in decision-making in extremely complex situations that sometimes defy modern computational capabilities.
