Summer Internship Opportunity at Pavilion Construction

Pavilion Construction is hiring a summer intern to be exposed to the roles of Project Engineer, Superintendent, Estimator / Purchaser, and Assistant Project Manager.  We are a general contracting firm with our corporate office in Portland and a satellite office here in Albuquerque.  Gross revenue for FY 2016 was $120M. We specialize in multi-family construction with some of our current projects in the state being a 116 unit rehab for the Santa Fe housing Authority, our own internal 200 market rate apartment community under construction on Bryn Mawr here in ABQ, and additional projects in Hobbs, the Jett Hall engineering building rehab for NMSU, and a 3rd party market rate 180 unit apartment community we are building in Odessa, TX.  Overall the company has projects ongoing in NM, TX, CO, OR, and WA.

We are looking for a candidate to potentially hire here in the ABQ office after graduation so ideally someone who is graduating in DEC 2017.  Internship will include time working with one of the 4 Project Engineers here in ABQ (3 of them are graduates of UNM) learning RFI  and Submittal review / close out, management of construction documents, and pricing out change orders.  Time in the field with a superintendent learning schedule management, subcontractor conflict resolution, and quality checks of construction.  Time with our estimator learning takeoffs (using onscreen) and buyout procedures, and finally time in the role of an assistant project manager learning budget management, managing clients, and overall timing of buyout / submittal / RFI and execution of work.

Hours 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday, $12-15 hour, candidate will need to pass a background and drug screen.  No housing offered.  A student who is graduating at the end of the summer would be of interest as well we could work around his course load while he finishes up his degree over the summer.

Students earning a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering would be preferred.

Interested students, should send their resume to Nathan Long (nlong@pavilionconstruction.com). For any questions, please contact Nathan Long.
