Dr. Al Shanti researches in the area of polymer concrete, additive manufacturing, and innovative construction materials. Her work focuses on engineering next-generation smart materials with tailored mechanical behavior, supported by advanced material and microstructural characterization. She develops design strategies that enable 3D printing of cementitious and polymer-based systems and explores their vibration attenuation characteristics for high-performance, resilient infrastructure. Dr. Al Shanti was awarded the ASTM International Project Grant in 2019, the ACI Fellowship Award in 2021, and the ASCE Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2024.
