Management Electives
In the Construction Management degree program, three management elective courses are required. You may choose from any 300 level management classes for which you have the prerequisites.
Minor in Management
A minor from the Anderson Schools of Management requires 18 hours. The Construction Management degree program includes all of those hours IF you elect Mgt 113 as one of your Construction electives. By completing the degree program and including Mgt 113, you are eligible to apply for the management minor.
The minor is described on page 88 of the 2006-2007 UNM catalog: 6 to 9 hours must be selected from Mgt 113, 202, and one of three Economics courses (Econ 105 or Econ 106 or Econ 300). The remaining credit hours must be selected from 300-level management courses.
Mgt 202 and Econ 106 are part of the CM program. You should select Mgt 113 as one of your construction electives. The rest of the courses can be selected from 300-level Management courses. Because Mgt 303 is required in the CM program, the School of Engineering does NOT allow it to count toward the minor.
It is suggested that you work with your academic advisor to choose appropriate management courses.
