Caltrans, North Region Project Development Division, Recruiting Transportation Engineers

Caltrans in the North Region Project Development Division wants to hire a large number of Transportation Engineers (Civil) in the next few months.  Our goal is to have people hired by November.  Qualified Seniors and Graduate students should still apply if not graduated by November, and their target graduation date is this winter or late spring of 2018.  Attached is a flyer describing the Transportation Engineer (Civil) position, Examination/Assessment Information, and the Job Posting.  The steps towards applying for a Transportation Engineer (Civil) position are described below.

The North Region Marysville, Redding and Eureka offices have posted the new Transportation Engineer (Civil) job vacancy advertisements on the CalCareer website https://www.jobs.ca.gov.  These include positions for Transportation Engineer (Civil) in all areas: Design, Construction, Hydraulics, Specifications, Planning and Traffic in each of the geographic locations.

Entry level hires will be eligible for our Engineering Rotation Program which provides on-the-job training assignments in Design, Construction, and other engineering offices.  A career at Caltrans offers opportunities to specialize in one area or develop broad experience in the various aspects of Transportation Engineering.  Lifestyle options are also varied; both office and field assignments exist in the twelve Districts across the state and Headquarters functions in Sacramento.

If you have questions regarding the steps and sub-steps in the application process, please contact Scott Sundberg at scott.sundberg@dot.ca.gov and provide your telephone number.
