Information does come to faculty and staff in the department, from other departments,organizations, and associations, about various scholarships in the local area, the state, and throughout the U.S.

Graduate Student Financial Assistance

For Engineering and Computer Science Students, both MS and PhD levels

Applications are now available for Graduate Student Financial Assistance which is open to students who are self-supported, meaning they do not have a graduate assistantship or employer sponsorship.

Priority deadline is October 15, 2017, for Fall 2017.

Only a COMPLETED application form is required for this special fall semester award.

AGC Education & Research Foundation Scholarship Application is Now Open To Students Dedicated to Pursuing Careers in the Construction Industry 

Each year the AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET or ACCE accredited construction management or construction related engineering programs. The application opened July 1, 2017 and closes November 1, 2017.

Over $10 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 4,000 students attending colleges and universities across the country. Through endowments made by AGC members and supporters, as well as AGC Chapters, the Education and Research Foundation awards over 150 scholarships each year to students dedicated to pursuing a career in the construction industry.

Scholarships for Veterans

The Veterans Resource Center at UNM has 2 scholarships available.

Ted S. Lopez Endowed Scholarship

  • write a personal statement
  • be a UNM student, full or part-time, and intend to graduate from UNM with an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • be honorably discharged from any branch of service
  • possess and maintain a UNM gpa of 3.0 or higher
  • have unmet financial need

Arthur, Martha, and Alice York Endowed Scholarship

  • write a 1-2 page personal statement
  • be attending UNM on a full or part-time basis
  • be an undergraduate or graduate student
  • be a veteran of any branch of the U.S. military, including reserve of the National Guard
  • have completed at least one full semester at UNM
  • have had at least a 5 year break in your education
  • possess and maintain a UNM gpa of 3.0 or higher
  • have unmet financial need

The scholarships will be awarded in the fall and will be paid out half in the fall, half in the spring.

Undergraduates Intending to Pursue a Master's in Environmental Engineering

Seniors that may pursue a master’s in Environmental Engineering during academic year 2018-2019 are encouraged to apply for $10,000 in funding that will be provided by the Environmental Engineers of the Future (E2F) program to each selected student.  Selected students have the opportunity to develop early job networking/mentoring relationships with Environmental Engineering employers from both the public and private sectors.  The online application is here:
